The Aurora Seedling Fund Community Grants Program is a management account of Community Enterprise™ Charitable Fund. ABN 12 102 649 968. The Bendigo Centre, Bendigo, VIC, 3550. The Aurora Seedling Fund is made possible by the support of Sprout Hub Aurora and Lendlease.

Did you know that 10 cents from every dollar you spend at Sprout Hub Aurora goes into the Seedling Fund? The Seedling Fund is a community-led grant initiative that aims to promote and enable local groups to do great things in the community. In a process similar to crowd funding, the community votes for which projects get the majority of the $’s. We call it a ground up grant – money raised by the community, for the community.

Epping North Scout Group

As a new group, the Epping North Scouts Epping North are still becoming established. Most of the group’s membership fees are used on on venue hire and leader training, with little leftover for essential extras. They need to purchase camping equipment, including cooking equipment, solar lighting gear, tents and eskies, to be used for upcoming Cuboree (October) and Jamboree (January 2018) camping trips, as well as many other trips, years into the future. The group are an important community facility, supporting many local families including those of low socio-economic status, CALD families, and recently arrived refugees who are new to scouting.

Wollert Fire Brigade

Wollert Fire Brigade is a volunteer fire and emergency service that aims to keep their community safe. They need a generator, TV, café table, chairs and three bifold tables for a community education program that will teach people how to proactively prevent fire, and what to do when one occurs. The program will cover fire risks around the home, what to do in the event of a grass fire, and how to use fire extinguishers and fire blankets. They will be running an event at the local Aurora Village and will be regularly a hosting displays with seasonal fire safety advice to help educate the community. The Brigade believes in working together with communities to reduce the incidence and impact of emergencies on Victorians.
